State Religions and Religious Minorities

Malaysia recognizes Islam as the religion of the country. Non-Muslims have the right to practice their religion in peace and harmony. This book examines the constitutional provisions in relation to freedom of religion in Malaysia. It mainly focuses on the impact of the constitutional provisions on non-Muslims particularly in relation to change of religion and prohibition to use certain identified Islamic words and expressions. In essence this book is analytical inductive critical and comparative. It surveys the main gamut of freedom of religion in Malaysia with judicial decisions and legislative provisions.
