The basis of this book is to study the steering system frequency response for a vehicle through comparisons among different configurations of the steering system of the vehicle. Further it will be valued the interaction between the steer reaction and the vehicle dynamics when the steer is controlled by steering torque. First of all the purpose is examined for simple models: at the beginning the vehicle will be studied without wheels and after with them. Then the vehicle utilizes an electric power steering system (EPS) with a brushless motor. This aims to improve the vehicle stability by increasing the steering return torque. In a model the brushless motor is installed on the steering column; in another one the servo unit acts on the gear rack itself. Subsequently it is very interesting to study the influence of the steering system frequency on vehicle dynamics for more complicated models.
