Ned Kelly survived to be hung later and Dan Kelly Joe Byrne and Steve Hart were believed to have perished in the fire.</span></p><p></p><p><span style=background-color: rgba(246 245 243 1); color: rgba(54 54 54 1)>Rumours erupted that Dan and Steve had survived and were whisked out of the district by family and supporters.
