Steve Vermeulen grew up in a working class family in Iowa living a life that could be described as normal by most standards. But in 1975 when he was nineteen years old and joining the military he learned about a long-held family secret. This discovery dramatically impacted his knowledge of his family roots. In Steven We Need to Talk he narrates the story of his forty-year search for family members associated with the man he learned was his father.
