Stories from the Storm

The purpose of the study conducted in this book was to produce a narrative of the events surrounding the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the impact of this storm on students who were subsequently internally displaced from the city of New Orleans. Interview data was collected from a total of six students who experienced the hurricane as it swept through New Orleans and were displaced to the Houston Texas area. The data was then analyzed and each participant’s narrative of the events immediately before during and after the storm were chronicled.
