Strategies for Coping Informal Caregiver

Demographic ageing leads to an increase in pathological situations and physical dependence which will lead to a potential demand for complex care the responsibility for which has been attributed to families with informal care for the elderly dependent person emerging as the focus of attention. This situation has a major impact on the family and can be a stressful event to which its response will be very dependent on the ability to mobilize coping strategies. Community nursing plays a key role in preventing the decline in the physical and mental health of these caregivers and in adapting to their new role by enhancing both internal and external coping strategies.
