Strengthening Communities: A Study of Women's Self Help Groups

The Women’s Self Help Groups have lead to benefits not only to individual women and women groups but also the families and communities. This study has tried to address three broad areas of enquiry: the outreach of SHGs their ecology and the gender development. In the study the gender development role was paramount however the ecology issue was also explored alongside the overreach. This is because complimentary and supplementary role is fundamental to SHGs. The research analysis of the data vividly depicts the regional and individual perspective of socio-political and economic environment support base of the SHGs and its context described lucidly in the book.
