About The Book

The book consists of seven chapters. Chapter (1) examines the phenomenon of variation in L2 learners’ performance with special reference to sex-related differences. Chapter (2) is entitled “on language learners/users dichotomy and reverse transfer: Reflections from the concept of multicompetence – A critical review. Chapter (3) deals with ‘language and the parameters of power in medical discourse in spoken Egyptian Arabic. Chapter (4) provides insights into L2 reading; the effects of content knowledge on reading comprehension of Egyptian university students. Chapter (5) provides “an analysis of the differences in the linguistic behavior along the feminine-masculine dimension: Reflections from literary discourse”. Chapter (6) Examines the linguistic and philosophical features of Henry Fielding’s Joseph Andrews and Tom Jones. Finally Chapter (7) analyzes the effect of technology on integrated (EFL) skills with a special focus on learners’ perceptions.
