About The Book

Today’s world is witnessing the resurgence in the consumption of fish due to its low cholesterol fat content and good quality of animal protein. Vibrios of sea food origin have attention and it is a major cause of food poisoning in man. The majority of outbreaks have been epidemiologically traced to the consumption of fishes and shellfishes originating from warm coastal water. It is therefore desirable to carryout more research work pertaining to Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VP) which can pose as a serious public health hazard. This work throws light on importance of VP in food hygiene and personal hygiene in control of food poisoning episodes and ability of VP strains of West Bengal to resist the conventional treatment for its effect in human.
