Study of Combustion Parameters Under Variable Compression Ratio
English

About The Book

The theory of combustion in diesel engine is a very complex phenomenon in which intensive research has been carried out in this area from many years. Combustion is a chemical reaction in which certain elements of fuel like hydrogen and carbon combine with oxygen liberating heat energy and raising the temperature of gases in engine by virtue of which power is generated. The conditions necessary for combustion are the presence of combustible mixtures and some means of initiating the process. In present study CFD analysis and simulation of combustion phenomenon of diesels engine with variable compression ratios like 12.5 15 and 17.5 are carried out at 230 before start of fuel injection (at the end of compression stoke) and ends at 500 after start of fuel injection. The main objective is to analyse the combustion parameters like cylinder pressure cylinder volume heat release rate rate of pressure rise and temperature of single cylinder four-stroke DI diesel engine for various compression ratios by numerical approach using CFD package ANSYS Fluent.
