Study of Soviet Use of Field Artillery Weapons in a Direct Fire Role

<p>This study is a detailed look at the information available in current Soviet military publications on how the Soviets use their field artillery weapons in a direct fire role. It includes a discussion of the historical background for use of direct fire as it was developed during the Great Patriotic War. The primary emphasis is on how the Soviets currently employ direct fire during offensive and defensive operations and the training techniques used to develop direct fire skills at individual and collective levels.
