The political and electoral context of 2015 in Burundi characterised by violent protests and demonstrations led to a massive influx of Burundian refugees into neighbouring countries. In the DRC the LUSENDA site is located in the Fizi territory in South Kivu. According to the National Commission for Refugees (CNR) this site is home to some 24687 people including 8700 households and 5657 in host families out of a host community of 16835 inhabitants. The presence of Burundian refugees weighs heavily on the social life of local communities. This study will give SVH and EIRENE clear ideas for developing a coherent strategy for violence prevention and non-violent conflict management as part of strengthening the resilience of host communities.
