To study the prevalence and factors associated with anxiety and depression in adolescent girls and young married women (15–29 years) in urban resettlement areas. The study revealed high levels of anxiety and depression were discovered. Depression affected 27% of adolescent girls and 23% of young married women.The majority of adolescent girls (36%) felt minimum anxiety which was followed by mild anxiety (29%) and severe anxiety (18%) and moderate anxiety (17%).Young married women were more likely to have minimal anxiety (44%) than mild severe or moderate anxiety (21%) or moderate anxiety (14%). According to the study young married women (42.30%) had less knowledge about the mental health than adolescent girls (85%). Studies (p=0.04) an unfavorable home environment in adolescent girls and marital problems (p=0.007) among young married women were the factors that emerged significant with anxiety. The factors which came out to be significant with depression were studies (p=0.003) and money issues (p=0.05) in adolescent girls and none of the factor was found significant in young married women.
