Stylistics And Discourse Analysis And A Contribution To Literature

The present Title aims to provide information about Stylistics and Discourse analysis and how they contribute to literature. It is very difficult to analyze the difference between stylistics and discourse analysis. Discourse analysis relies on knowledge and methodologies from a wide range of fields such as philosophy anthropology sociology social and cognitive psychology and artificial intelligence and so is the stylistics. This thesis focuses on both stylistics and discourse analyses are two different domains. The former is the sub field of the later and also it gives information how they differ from literary criticism in analyzing literature. Introduction: According to Collins discourse means “The study of language in us.” Fairclough (1992;8) said that discourse is shaped by the three dimensions (the social or distinguished knowledge social relation and social identity) and invested ideologies.
