<p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>Dan Shepherd grew up as the son of a lighthouse keeper spending</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>his childhood in remote New Zealand outposts. He trained</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>as a fitter and turner served in the Navy and later ran his own</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>marine engineering business. Dan and his wife Joan went on to</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>build an ocean-going steel yacht a venture that carried them to</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>work on Thursday Island and farther afield. Returning to Australia</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>they joined the ranks of the grey nomads exploring the remote</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>reaches of the outback. Now retired in Queensland Dan is finally</span></p><p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>putting a lifetime of adventure into print.</span></p><p></p>
