Suicide in Romania

Currently Romania is being characterized by an increased amplification of the suicides the suicide phenomenom becoming a daily constant a fact that may be observed from consulting the media news as well as mostly the experts findings. Every day circa 7 Romanians choose to commit suicide meaning a suicide committed every 3 hours and 43 minutes. Year after year the suicides in Romania represent a proportion of aproximately 23-31 % of all violent deaths following the road accidents. Eventhought by comparison with many other European countries the suicide rate in Romania per one hundred thousand inhabitants does not reach the intensity of the suicide rates registered for instance in countries like Hungary Serbia or the Republic of Moldova it exceeds the ones registered for example in the UK The Netherlands or Portugal. In Romania the information regarding the magnitude of the suicide is defragmentated and not complete without reflecting the real dimension of this phenomenom.
