After three years of brutal fighting in the American Civil War Bill Barton and his best friend head west hoping to strike it rich in the gold fields of Colorado. But an attack on the road to Central City leaves his friend dead and Bill badly injured.Barely recovered and no longer having the heart for prospecting Bill moves to Denver where he finds a steady job with the city marshals office.
