About The Book

Companies are competing in fast changing markets characterised by high levelsof variety and competition. Therefore they need two capabilities: the capabilityto understand their markets in terms of market drivers and markettrends; and secondly the capability of a company and its supply chain to respondin a timely yet efficient manner. Managing such supply chains will bedifficult without some degree of process integration and collaboration betweensupply chain partners. A first step is to know their own and that oftheir suppliers' performance capability. Michael Seitz's work was about constructinga performance measurement tool to identify the operational performancebetween adjacent members of a supply chain. The SCOR model wasused as the basis of the Performance Measurement System. This was extendedto include a Collaborative Index an additional measurement which couldassess the levels of supply chain integration and collaboration and a StabilityIndex which was developed to measure the robustness of the evaluatedsupply chain. This book is interesting for students and decision makers workingin the area of supply chain who want to gain a deeper knowledge aboutmeasuring supply chain performance.
