Research on the molecular recognition of amino compounds such as biogenic amines amino acids peptides proteins and carbohydrates by synthetic receptors is a topic of great interest for both host-guest chemistry and analytical applications. Naturally occurring amino acids have recently been the subject of investigation due to the functional and structural prominence of such interactions in chemistry and biology. Therefore the selective detection of amino acids has become an important objective and various methods have been developed for this purpose.
