Pat Miller's journey from a quiet life in suburban Washington D.C. to the jungles of South Vietnam and to the streets of America where he was a police officer for twenty-eight years.</p><p>Depicted mostly in short stories and anecdotes the author gives readers a behind-the-scenes look of what it means to be a soldier and police officer. Staff Sergeant Miller led a platoon of soldiers through the horrors and hardships of combat. When he returned home from the war Officer Miller was chosen to start a plainclothes unit that targeted burglaries robberies and other crimes in the crime-ridden suburbs of Washington D.C. Years of unmatched success led to the formation of a permanent tactical investigative unit.</p><p>First in uniform then a detective the author went on to become a homicide investigator concluding his career as the sergeant in charge of the Homicide Cold Case Unit.</p><p>Throughout Miller's journey his Christian faith led him to realize that God played a critical role in ensuring that he not only survived but thrived.</p>
