The research was carried out in the Province of Chanchamayo Junín Peru with the purpose of characterizing analyzing the sustainability and developing experiences for the technological improvement of citrus (Citrus sinensis) valencia variety farms. The work was developed with producers in the Province of Chanchamayo with a population of 2200 producers from which a sample was taken (n=135) a survey was conducted with components of technical and socio-economic aspects of the farm. The results of the characterization indicate that orange (Citrus sinensis) valencia variety farms are very complex and that families are highly dependent on this crop: a representative group of producers have other types of crops within the same farm which allows them to have an additional income for the family. On the other hand it was found that one group has monocultures making their economic stability more vulnerable since they only depend on income from the sale of oranges (Citrus sinensis) valencia variety which has significant price variations throughout the year.
