Sustainable regional development

This paper deals with the topic of sustainable regional development in the context of the EU programme LEADER. On the one hand it examines all important terms and scientific and political discourses that touch on the topic of sustainable regional development. On the other hand it provides an overview of all relevant political framework conditions that explain the LEADER programme and form the basis for the qualitative content analysis carried out. The aim of the qualitative content analysis is to investigate the extent to which sustainability aspects are taken into account in the Local Development Strategy 2014-2020 for the Mühlviertel region. Categories of sustainability goals and sustainability principles are used to answer this question.
