Suzanne Valadon

<p>Suzanne Valadon: <em>Muse of Montmartre</em> is an art activity book that combines a biography with interactive coloring pages. The book invites readers to discover the remarkable story and artwork of Suzanne Valadon and her journey as a model and muse for artists of the era including Renoir Degas Gauguin Modigliani Toulouse-Lautrec and the composer Erik Satie. While modeling Valadon closely observed these masters at work absorbing their techniques and approaches to art. Degas recognizing her remarkable talent became her mentor and referred to her as one of us. In 1894 Valadon achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first woman to exhibit her work at the prestigious Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. </p>
