Swami Vivekananda an Indian monk a philosopher author religious teacher and one of the pioneers of socio-religious enlightenment was born on January 12 1863. During the course of a short life of 39 years (1863-1902) his achievements were immense. He dedicated his life to the higher call of promoting peace serving the humanity and spreading the philosophy of Hinduism.
