About The Book

About the Book: Sweet Ruins touches on the themes of sweetness and bitterness. It progresses from the sweet phase of love that feels warm soft fresh and adventure-like to the hurt and disbelief that one faces on being abandoned or broken. The title itself is an oxymoron so as to give out a sense of the ups and downs that come along with love. “Ruins” here are for the reference of an antanaclasis. “Ruins” here evoke the idea of destruction and also the remnants of some thing/place after it is destroyed. The poetry in this book is aimed to project the idea of a bittersweet love. About the Author: Renee is currently a graduate who finished her Bachelors in 2024. She has been writing since the age of 15 and Sweet Ruins is her debut poetry book before which she used to write ballads verses and long poetries. From the age of 13 she has had a habit of journalling reading magazines and reading poetry. Inspired by both English and Hindi writers over the years her writing style has always grown more and more different yet creative every year. The author feels that publishing the book would be a personal achievement as transitioning from a young girl with few social connections but a deep bond with pen and paper to sharing her work with a wide audience represents a significant and meaningful step forward.
