Sweetening the Patrons

Sweetening the Patrons is a gripping sequel to The Country Attorney. As the new year 1778 dawns John Eagle finds himself at the centre of a long-standing feud between two powerful landowners one of whom is his main employer. Keeping his patron sweet is far from easy for the gifted attorney who in the face of insurmountable pressures must battle his conscience time and again. To complicate things further he is in love with his employer’s beautiful daughter and has taken on a black boy as clerk. As the feud widens and becomes increasingly bitter the stakes get higher by the day for our young hero.
