<p>After her criminal husband is murdered Corinne inherits his fortune. Then she disappears. And if <em>she</em> isn't going to collect the fortune falls to her nephew-in-law-Little Steve. He wants to confirm what everyone seems to believe that Corinne is either long gone or stone dead. </p><p></p><p>That's where detective Jaimie MacRae comes in. MacRae has a hunch that Corinne might be hiding out at her lawyer's house. Unfortunately when MacRae gets there he finds the lawyer shot in the head.
