At the tender age of 5 Sydney convinces her grandmother that shes ready to take her spirituality to the next level and partakes in a water baptism. On the day that she confesses her love for God she returns home to witness domestic violence that she blames herself for. Sydneys future is uncertain as she struggles with depression along the way and battles through several toxic relationships. Her journey takes her to Europe where she tries to establish her own identity and seeks to start a new life in France only to be met with numerous challenges. Sydney realizes that her life is spiraling out of control so she turns to God in search for guidance. Sydneys life is changed when she travels to Haiti and discovers the untold history of the first free independent black nation. Sydney experiences Haitian culture love and kindness and is intrigued by the simplistic life within the rural Haitian village Sydney gets a little bit closer to finding her purpose as she manages to steal tiny moments of peace found within newly acquired friendships picking and eating fruit from lush trees and enjoying all the benefits of the bleu river.
