<p><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(55 65 81 1)>In the year 1125 John of Crema was appointed as a legate by Pope Honorius II to oversee ecclesiastical matters in England. After a delay in Normandy he was welcomed by the Church in England receiving letters from the Pope that emphasized the importance of his role in maintaining the integrity of the apostolic see and the Christian faith. The letters called for cooperation from English clergy and the King of Scots particularly regarding disputes involving the archbishop of York. John was tasked with correcting and strengthening the churches in his jurisdiction. </span></p>
