Synthesis and Characterization of some Schiff base ligands

Schiff base complex compounds occupy a wide place in coordination chemistry and play an important role in the development of inorganic chemistry biochemistry and environmental chemistry. Schiff bases have a chelating structure and are in demand because they are easy to prepare and are moderate electron donors. Schiff base complexes with transition and heavy metals are used in organic synthesis analytical reagent metal-ion catalyst and medicine. Schiff''s base chemistry is widely studied because of its high synthetic flexibility various coordination ability and usefulness for medicine. These compounds contain > C = N group and are also known as imine or azomethine but are generally known as SCHIFF BASE after Schiff who synthesized such compounds.
