Synthesis Antibacterial and Antifungal Activities of Benzothiazole

Benzothiazole derivatives are important in the industry as dyes photographic chemicals and sulfa drugs. The family of sulfur–nitrogen heterocycles includes highly stable aromatic compounds that display physicochemical properties with relevance in the design of new materials especially those relating to molecular conductors and magnets. Benzothiazole derivatives are used as Flavoring agents Dyes in leather industry Rubber-vulcanizing accelerators Plant growth regulators Polymer industry and rubber industry Antibacterial and antifungal agents. Since benzothiazole derivatives possess diverse biological activity so in the present work we have synthesised benzothiazole derivatives. Antimicrobial activity of the substituted benzothiazoles derivatives were carried out in two parts namely antibacterial and antifungal activities. The antifungal activity of substituted Benzothiazole derivatives were studied in comparison with that of standard antifungal drug by cup-plate method.
