Synthesis of azo and hydrazine derivatives via oxidative coupling

Here in we developed a simple clean and very mild reaction conditions which work efficiently at room temperature and produce wide variety of functional groups containing azobenzenes and hydrazines with commercially available CuBr DMAP and AIBN. The plausible mechanism for this dehydrogenative homo coupling of aromatic amines was discussed in detail. Moreover this method does not produce any other by products and exclusively produces the desired products. Herein for the first time we observed the formation of rotamers in case of derivatives of N-butylated anilines.
