Tajikistan National Urban Assessment

<p>This report shows why Tajikistan Central Asia's least urbanized economy should increase the number of people living in its cities and diversify its economy to capitalize on the demographic dividend offered by its growing population. </p><p><br></p><p>Estimating its urban population could double by 2050 the report explains why the country of 9.5 million should set out clear pathways that put urbanization at the center of its strategy to generate growth. It explains the challenges posed by outdated urban planning insufficient infrastructure and budgetary constraints and offers short medium and long-term holistic strategies to make Tajikistan's cities competitive.</p>
