The book entitled Tales from Shakespeare is revered as one of the well-acclaimed classic adaptations of the popular Shakespeare plays. It had been written by a famous English writer Mary Lamb in collaboration with her brother Charles Lamb. Mary Lamb was born in London England on 3rd December 1764 to John and Elizabeth Lamb in a humble background. Mary Lamb received only the initial formal education due to financial constraints. She got a free access to the library of her father's employer where she developed a liking for reading. In fact she had to work as a seamstress to provide for her family but her love for reading made her learn Latin French and Italian on her own.In 1807 Mary Lamb published the 'Tales from Shakespeare' along with her brother Charles Lamb. The 'Tales from Shakespeare' was widely appreciated as the best version of the Shakespeare's plays and made them familiar to children. Her other notable works incorporate 'Mrs. Leicester's School' and 'Poetry for My People'. She died on 20th May 1847 in England.Charles Lamb is a famous English poet critic and an essayist who created marvellous literary work in his lifetime. He was born on 10th February 1775 and was the youngest of three siblings. He joined the free boarding school and continued till 1789. He got the job of the clerk in the merchant's office and East India House. His work 'Tales from Shakespeare' in collaboration with his sister proved to be a great literary work. His other notable works incorporates'Eliana' 'Essays of Elia' 'The Adventures of Ulysses' and 'Blank Verse'. He died of Erysipelas on 27 December 1834 at the age of 59.
