<p>This book was created by Grand Master Drummer Mamady Keita from Guinea West Africa for his international schools the Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy International Schools of Percussion. Specifically this is curriculum and instruction for traditional djembe and dunun (djembe orchestra) music. It also includes instruction on djembe and dunun technique. This volume features 63 traditional djembe rhythms in box (aka matrix) notation as well as Western stave notation. In addition each rhythm features oral history (ethnographic information) as well as maps showing geographic origins.</p>
