It narrates the 300 year history of the Tang Dynasty in plain and fluent language consisting of eight volumes.</p><p>The first volume is The Founding of the Li Tang Dynasty which tells the history from the chaos of war in the late Sui Dynasty to the Xuanwu Gate Incident. Emperor Yang Guang of Sui acted recklessly causing the people to suffer and frequent uprisings. Tang Duke Li Yuan rose up in Jinyang and gradually defeated other rebel forces unifying China. However in this process Li Yuan was unable to handle the role conflict between his father and the emperor well. He appointed Li Jiancheng as the crown prince but also placed great importance on Li Shimin resulting in sharp conflicts between his two sons. In the end the conflict ended tragically in the Xuanwu Gate Incident - Li Jiancheng was shot to death and Li Shimin was appointed as the crown prince and ascended to the throne. This book is rich in historical materials witty in language broad in perspective and has a certain depth making it an excellent popular historical reading material.</p><p></p><p>本书为作者用九年时间打磨而成，以《旧唐书》《新唐书》《资治通鉴》为蓝本，结合近年来的最新史学研究，用通俗流畅的文字讲述唐朝三百年历史，共八卷。</p><p></p><p>第一卷为《李唐开国》，讲述从隋朝末年战乱纷起到玄武门之变这一段历史。隋炀帝杨广恣意妄为，致使民不聊生，起义频仍，唐国公李渊晋阳起兵，并逐渐战胜其他起义军，一统中国。但在这一过程中，李渊处理不好父亲和皇帝之间的角色冲突，立李建成为太子，却又重用李世民，致使二子矛盾尖锐，最终以玄武门之变的方式惨烈结束纷争--李建成被射死，李世民得立太子，并登上皇位。本书史料翔实、语言风趣、视野广阔，并有一定的深度，不失为一部优秀的大众历史普及读物。</p>
