Tarzan and the Forbidden City

In Tarzan and the Forbidden City Tarzan is once again called upon to help a friend in need. This time his old friend Jason Gridley who is an expert in radio communication contacts him with a request for help. Gridley has discovered a hidden city called Xuja located in a remote area of Africa and needs Tarzans help to investigate. Upon arriving in Xuja Tarzan discovers a city ruled by a tyrannical queen called Nemone who maintains her power through the use of deadly lions and a cult-like following. Tarzan and his friends must navigate the dangers of the city avoid the queens wrath and attempt to find a way to overthrow her and free the people of Xuja. The story is filled with action and adventure with Tarzan and his companions facing many obstacles and dangers as they work to uncover the secrets of the forbidden city. Along the way they encounter a variety of exotic creatures such as the prehistoric sabre-toothed tiger and engage in thrilling battles against Nemones forces. Throughout the novel Burroughs writing captures the excitement and danger of Tarzans adventures while also delving into themes of power corruption and the importance of freedom.
