Unbeknownst to Tarzan Werper follows closely driven by greed and fear of his master Achmet Zek. Upon reaching Opar Tarzan retrieves the gold but an earthquake traps him inside the treasure vault. Werper who has been shadowing Tarzan finds himself in a similar predicament. As they both seek escape Werper encounters the terrifying priests of Opar and is captured only to be saved by the timely intervention of a lion. The story weaves themes of betrayal survival and the clash between civilization and the primal instincts of man culminating in a gripping tale of adventure and intrigue.
