Taxonomica1 identification of coral reef fishes from Eraviputhenthurai

This book describes you the Taxonomica1 identification of coral reef colourful fishes from Eraviputhenthurai westcoast of India. Eraviputhenthurai (11°15’49.26” N 77°08’11.67”) is one among the coastal village on coastal belt of Kanyakumari District at Tamil Nadu India. From the landing centre of Eraviputhenthurai 56 coral fishes were collected and identified with the keys of Whitehead (1985); Heemstra (1993); Filho (2016) and Gill (2018). These 56 species were belonged to 28 genera and 13 families and 5 orders (Kurtiformes Tetraodontiformes Carangiformes Bercyformes and Perciformes). Well-defined descriptions pictographic representation and distribution of these 56 species were provided to understand accurately. The morphometric and meristic characters of these 56 species were clearly presented in tabular form. Data collected from the period of January 2017 to December 2018. It acts as baseline data on coral reefs fishery resources for the fisher folk of this particular region.
