The present work deals with the study of eight species of lavender indigenous to Morocco; they are Lavandula stoechas L. Lavandula dentata L. Lavandula mairei Humbert. (Endemic) Lavandula pedunculata (Mill.) Cav.Lavandula multifida L. Lavandula maroccana Murb. (endemic) and Lavandula pedunculata (Mill.) Cav. subsp. atlantica (Braun-Blanq.) Romo(endemic) and Lavandula angustifolia Mill. The latter species is cultivated while the other seven grow wild. Throughout this work different aspects concerning lavender are discussed biogeography systematics ethnobotany and finally phytochemistry.
