Teacher Language Awareness

Describing and exploring teacher language awareness (both mother tongue and second/foreign language) as a major concern in language education has been a growing concern over the past years. With regard to the studies conducted on the issue of TLA language teachers should not only possess the subject-matter knowledge about the language they teach (declarative dimension of TLA) but they also should possess those qualities (i.e. the awareness) that will enable the subject-matter knowledge base to be accessed easily and drawn upon appropriately.
