Teachers Perception towards Pupils with Low Vision

This book explores the opinions teachers have towards the teaching and learning of children with low vision in Nkwanta South District of the Volta Region Ghana. The respondents of the study were teachers. The book is based on data collected from ninety teachers in Nkwanta South District of the Volta Region Ghana. All respondents answered the questionnaire. The data were analysed using tables frequencies and percentages. The study found out that pupils with low vision face academic challenges such as lack of braille books difficulty in reading print from textbook and writing on the chalkboard difficulty in accessing information and organizing it lack the ability to visualize and associate words with objects and little or no ability for observation. The study recommends that the Ghana Education Service in Nkwanta South District Volta Region Non-Governmental Organization and benevolent people should play their role effectively in inclusive education to help provide the necessary equipment and materials to equip pupils with low vision academically since some of them are talented and gifted.
