Teaching Competency of Primary School Teachers

Primary education is the foundation stone of formal education. It prepares students to secondary and higher education. So the success of all levels of education is depends on quality of primary education. One of the quality determinants of primary education is competency of teachers as teachers are real implementers of all policies and plans of education. So we need teachers having high quality teaching competency who can teach effectively in classroom. Teaching competency is more essential in primary school teachers as they introduce formal learning to students.This book consists of five chapters. The chapter-I gives detailed theoretical background and significance of primary education and concept of teaching competency. The chapter-II has reviewed latest and relevant research studies relating to teaching competency from researches conducted in different countries of the world. The chapter-III lucidly presents the procedure methods tools used for undertaking this work. The chapter-IV presents data in tabular graphical and textual form for understanding of readers. The last chapter gives conclusion regarding major findings and suggestions for further research.
