Teaching-Service Integration and training at the Health Technical School/Unimontes

About The Book

Health education is understood as one of the actions in the field of public health that aims to effectively build praxis based on the concept that there is no practice without theory nor theory without practice. This study highlighted the integration of teaching and service in the professional health training process at the CEPT/UNIMONTES Technical Health School whose mission is to contribute to the implementation of the Unified Health System in the training of health workers with a curriculum focused on professional skills and work as the centre of the educational process. The teaching-service integration practices in the training process of the technical courses at ETS/CEPT/UNIMONTES were analysed from 2006 to 2011 through a case study using descriptive and exploratory methodology with a qualitative approach. However teaching-service integration practices at ETS/CEPT/UNIMONTES have potentialised changes in health training based on integrated planning proposals with the aim of continuously building on the processes of learning and knowledge production.
