Teaching Translation Using Lyrics of Songs to UHAMKA's English Student

This research is designed in qualitative. There are two instruments used by the researcher in this qualitative research. The first instrument is students’ weekly translation assignments. And the second is ten questions of short guided interview in the form of multiple choices about translation. Therefore there are two findings obtained from this research. The first finding is the three translation strategies are applicable in teaching translation using lyrics of rock songs. The second finding is that the three translation can be used to help Students of English Department of UHAMKA to translate lyrics of rock songs into Indonesian. The conclusion of this research is the use of the three translation strategies in teaching translation using lyrics of rock songs to students of English Department of UHAMKA exposed good result.
