The book critically assesses some measures taken by the Nigerian and Kenyan government to fight terrorism and discusses whether these measures have actually been productive or counter productive with regard to the effect these measures have had particularly to the protection of basic human rights in these countries. It is submitted in the foregoing paper that measures employed to fight Boko Haram and Al-Shabaab have to a large extent not been human rights centred and have therefore been principally more counterproductive than otherwise.
