With the advent of triple antiretroviral therapy and the development of the concept of combined prevention knowledge of serostatus has become essential both at individual level to improve well-being and collectively to reduce transmission of the virus. Screening has thus become the main means of access to care and prevention services as confirmed by the UNAIDS 90-90-90 multisectoral strategy whose first objective is to screen 90% of estimated people living with HIV (PLHIV) (UNAIDS 2014)Despite the creation of voluntary screening centers in the majority of countries WHO estimates that 54% of PLHIV do not know their serostatus suggesting that current screening models are failing to reach populations most at risk of HIV infection.
