Molecular biology: what is it? There are multiple definitions for the phrase. Some people give it a fairly broad definition as the effort to comprehend biological processes in terms of molecules. However this definition makes it challenging to differentiate molecular biology from biochemistry another well-known field. The study of gene structure and function at the molecular level provides a more practical and constrained description. The focus of this work is an attempt to provide a molecular explanation of genes and their functions. The fields of genetics and biochemistry gave rise to molecular biology.
