Text Linguistics for University Students

This book is presented to University students. It consists of three parts. Part one presents theories of text linguistics and other related areas of study. It explains how any text whether written or spoken should meet several standards in order to have communicative qualities so this book is an endeavor to study the textuality communication. The main objective is latent in helping students identify all texts. Part two handles pragmatics; it presents some relevant aspects of pragmatics and text linguistics focusing on the interaction between using speech acts and keeping textuality both at the sentence and the text level. Part three is a practical part where the student has to analyze a set of texts or determine whether some pieces of writings are texts or not. MCQ on text linguistics and other related areas are provided at the end of the book for measuring the ability of the student to analyze answer and apply.
