While Tov incorporates the last ten years of scholarship including the new studies on the Dead Sea Scrolls <i>Textual Criticism of the Hebrew Bible</i> presents a more <i>simplified</i> and <i>practical</i> analysis than its earlier editions. Simplification consists in the reduction of the theoretical introductory material in the first nine chapters.
